This list does not include research on ancestors or brothers and sisters of the above.
Although Joseph Kirby’s existence is quite clear, the evidence for his other brothers and sisters is not so clear, particularly as the evidence for Joseph comes from a good source, a Will.
Mary Kirby was born in about 1796. There is currently no evidence of Mary’s birth. Searching the IGI the only possible christening is on the 29th December 1797 at Newport, Shropshire. She married a William Kemp from Stratford on Avon.
Ann Kirby was born about 1790 and died on the 9th September 1814 aged about 24.
Joseph Kirby was born about 1793 and is currently the best documented of the family. He married Sarah Bartlett from Evenlode in Worcestershire, on the 30th of September 1821. They had four children
Sarah Kirby, the ‘first’, Sarah Kirby, was born about 1823 in Moreton in Marsh.
Joseph Kirby, the eldest boy, Joseph, was born 17th of November 1824 and christened on the 16th of January 1825 in Moreton in Marsh.
Thomas Kirby was born about1826 and christened on the 28th of January 1827 in Moreton in Marsh.
James Kirby was born about 1829 and christened on the 6th of September 1829 in Moreton in Marsh
Sarah Kirby was born on the 15th of September 1798 in Fenny Compton. There are no other details about Sarah.
It is not quite clear but two other boys may have been born, John Kirby in 1805 and George Kirby in 1810. |
