Sarah Ann was born on the 7th of February 1853 in Moreton in Marsh. Although a scholar in Moreton in the 1861 Census, not shown in the 1871 Census living with the family when she would have been 18, no doubt at work somewhere. Sarah Ann is believed to have married a Thomas Ingram, a labourer and had a child Amelia Sarah Ingram around 1880. In 1881 they were living at Coventry Road Cottage, Yardley, Birmingham. However, this family is ‘lost’ by the 1901 census. A marriage certificate is still needed to be more certain.

However she has not been found in the 1901 census and William James is shown on his own as a Day Labourer in Aston in the 1901 Census and single. So what happened to this family? Did she die, did they have any children? William died in 1925 as a result of a fall. An inquest was held into the accident.

A lot of work needed to establish where they all ended up, although there is a Brookes lives today, 2003, at 247 Dials Lane. Coincidence? Well there are bigger ones and hope to check it out soon.
Miriam Bailey Kirby – The Kendrick Family
Born in Moreton in Marsh on the 3rd of June 1863. In 1881 Miriam was working as a Domestic Servant for the Derrington family in the Manor House, Lyndon Green Road, Solihull. Not found in 1891 census, Miriam has been found in the 1901 living in 10 Clarence Street, but name completely misspelled. No evidence of children yet, the 1891 census for Lambeth needs to be examined, however there is no evidence yet of children. However Charles does not appear in the census at all. Was he away or was he dead by this time? Lots of work required here however, The Kendrick family may be more traceable.
