James Parker Kirby JAMES PARKER KIRBY was born on the 22nd of July 1901 in 2 Barassie Street, Troon ref 590/2 92. The birth was registered by his father John Kirby, a Fisherman at the time.He was the last nine known children born to John Kirby and Elizabeth Taylor of Troon. It is not certain who James was named after. There are other James Kirby's and James Taylor's although where the Parker came in is not known. At the time of his birth he had three or perhaps four sisters living, Lucy Elizabeth Kirby, perhaps aged 12, and Elizabeth Taylor Kirby aged 8 and Christina Kirby aged 6 and Mary Kirby aged 4 and Jessie Wilson Kirby aged 2 On the 22nd of July 1901 a brother was born, James Parker Kirby. Sadly James died on the 28th September 1901 in 2 Barassie Street, Troon 10.15 AM (Ref 1901 590/2 41). His death was reported by his father John Kirby, a Fisherman on the 28th of September 1901 at Troon. The cause of death was Acute Lobal Pneumonia for2 days. Although James had two older brothers, they too had died young and so only some of his sisters were to survive into adulthood. It would only be sons of john Kirby's second marriage that were to carried the name of John Kirby forward, although there are still descendants of his first marriage today on the female line. |
